Zoustar Ownership Clarified
Some media outlets have reported on an ownership dispute surrounding star colt Zoustar, that could potentially put his autumn carnival in jeopardy, with Widden Stud principal Antony Thompson issuing a statement today to clarify the situation.
“The current owners of Zoustar are Widden Stud, Qatar Bloodstock & Woodside Park,” Thompson said.
“Racing NSW can confirm a transfer of 100% ownership of the horse was lodged with it prior to the Coolmore Stud Stakes on the 1st November from the 12 previous owners to Widden Stud.
“Subsequent sales of shares in the horse by Widden Stud to Qatar Bloodstock and Woodside Park required notification of a further change of ownership which has been lodged.
“At no stage has BC3 had any ownership interest in Zoustar and Racing NSW can confirm that Zoustar will be allowed to race as intended in the Canterbury Stakes in 2 weeks’ time.”
